Zephyr, a to-do list and Pomodoro timer
Zephyr is a free, local-first web app: a to-do list and a Pomodoro focus timer in one place.
There is no account, no signup and no server. Every task and focus session is stored in your
own browser, and the app works offline as an installable Progressive Web App.
Create tasks with due dates, priorities and #tags. Natural-language quick add reads plain
English as you type, so “Email Sam tomorrow !high #work” sets the due date, the
priority and the tag by itself. The list groups itself into Overdue, Today, Tomorrow, This
week and Later, and filters by due window or tag.
A Pomodoro timer with presets for Pomodoro (25/5), Short Focus (15/3), Deep Work (45/10)
and Meditation (10/2), plus your own custom presets. Sessions are logged, a daily streak is
tracked, and a session can be tied to a specific task. Breaks and the next session can
start by themselves. The countdown is anchored to the clock rather than counted down, so it
stays accurate while the tab sits in the background.
Privacy and your data
Local-first means what it says: all content lives in your browser’s localStorage and is
never uploaded. There is no telemetry of your content and no cloud copy. Because the data is
local, there is also no automatic backup, but you can export everything as a file and
import it again on any device from Settings → Data.
Clearing your browser data removes it for good.
Offline and installable
Zephyr is an installable PWA. Install it and it keeps working without a connection; when a
new version ships it asks before reloading rather than swapping itself out mid-session.
Keyboard
A command palette on Ctrl/Cmd + K searches tasks and reaches every command.
